INSIGHT FOR YOUTH
Helping youth overcome problems with alcohol, marijuana, and other drugs.
Insight is a nine week early intervention program for youth in grades 7-12 who are using and/or abusing alcohol, marijuana, and/or other drugs. This group provides information and activities that guide participants to examine how their use is affecting their lives and those around them. It also targets all forms of drug abuse from over-the-counter abuse to illegal drug abuse.
Who should attend the group?
Any youths in the age range can attend whether they are currently using, have used in the past, have been apprehended by law or caught in school for using or possessing, or would just like to learn more about the dangers of drug and/or alcohol abuse.
Parental Role
Parental involvement is required before the child is allowed to enroll in this program. According to Jim Crowley, founder and developer of Insight, "the more parents help in the Insight process, the greater the chance that the program will succeed with participants".
