Family Services nationally reaccredited through 2012.

Family Services, Inc. is extremely proud to announce successful reaccreditation by the Council on Accreditation (COA). COA accreditation attests that an organization meets the highest national standards and is delivering the best quality services to the community it serves. The Council on Accreditation is one of the most respected and stringent accreditation organizations in existence and has reaccredited Family Services, Inc. through September 30, 2012. This will mark 40 continuous years of accreditation for the agency.

The reaccreditation process includes a site visit by trained peer reviewers, submission of narrative reports and documentation of the past four years (since last review), and a determination by a COA review committee. The process can take several months because COA reviews and reaccredits the entire organization, not just specific programs. The process involves an in-depth examination of the organization’s compliance with best practice standards including human resources, financial and risk management, governance, continuous quality improvement and numerous service standards.

“This is a huge accomplishment that speaks volumes for Family Services and our staff,” said Mike Warner, speaking on behalf of the Executive Management Team, which includes Warner, Tony Johnson, and Dr. Tari Alper. “This process requires a team effort and we could not be more proud of our agency and the people who deliver best practice standards to the Greater Lafayette community on a daily basis.”

Family Services, Inc. is pleased to be in COA’s Community of Excellence, including over 1800 private and public organizations who are COA accredited or are in the process of becoming accredited. These organizations serve more than 7,000,000 children, individuals and families throughout the United States and Canada each year.
