Family Services gearing up for 2008 Homeward Bound!

Lace 'em up and join us Sunday, April 20, for Homeward Bound!  Family Services will join 7 other area agencies in the fight against homelessness and near-homelessness with a 5k walk through the neighborhoods of Lafayette, as we raise money and awareness.

Funds designated to Family Services will support our Family Self Sufficiency program, which helps families attain self-sufficiency and avoid a homeless situation.

There are lots of ways you can become involved:  Create a team, join a team, or simply make a donation!  Walkers, or team members solicit donatations from friends, family members, co-workers, church members, etc.

The walk will begin and end right on our front doorstep, Howarth Center, at 18th and Union Streets in Lafayette.  Registration and festivities begin at Noon, the walk begins at 2pm.

Ready to get started?  Log on to www.homewardboundindiana.org.  That's where you can get all the info, create a team, join a team, and make a donation!  Remember to designate your donations to Family Services!

FORE!!

The 9th Annual Golf Outing to benefit Family Services, sponsored by PEFCU and Hippensteel Funeral Services and Crematory, in partnership with Tempest Homes and Coyote Crossing Golf Course is slated for Wednesday, May 14, 2008.  Family Services is currently reserving spaces for foursomes, individual players, and sponsorship opportunities.  A day on the links is a great way to reward your employees or clients, and a variety of sponsorship and donation opportunities is a great way to market your business to a captive audience!

Hole-in-one prizes include a 2008 Dodge Caliber, courtesy of Twin City Dodge Chrysler, Bundy-McNear Insurance Agency, or a Caribbean Cruise, courtesy of Speaker's Travel.  Other competition prizes and door prizes will also be awarded!  Toss in a putting contest with a chance at $10,000 courtesy of Bison Financial Group, a hearty lunch and delicious post-round hors d'oeurves served by Coyote Crossing Banquet Services, a silent auction and more, and you've got the area's premier golf event!!
